52 Pick-me-up: Completion

We have reached the last week of 52 Pick-me-up Style. We've been working our way through the rainbow all year, with additional emotional word prompts from Tori Hartman's Chakra Wisdom Oracle. Now is your chance to show me your best color, your favorite outfit, and, for all you "Jokers" out there [you know who you are], your loudest, craziest ensemble with ALL THE COLORS.

Peaches on the Digital Catwalk and Shining Stars

Shining Star, by Earth, Wind & Fire, came up on my iPod the other day, during my morning commute. After replaying it about five times (or maybe more -- it got me from the 405 @ LAX to the 605 x 60), I thought about the SHINY 52 Pick-me-up sketch still in need of completion. I was also listening carefully to the lyrics (see below) and thought about all the Shining Stars in my universe.
Then I arrived at the day job, got slammed with a load of work, and was "forced" off the internet for days.
"What? You want me to WORK at work????"

Anyway.

I have SO many sketches in need of coloring. And instead, I'm in the midst of completing my Sketchbook Project 2014, which changed course and is now of maps of all my US road trips. That's due postmarked 1/15. Why do I always do this to myself? Ah well, pedal to the metal.

In my overactive imagination, you wait with bated breath to see who is walking the Digital Catwalk on Tuesdays. I choose my muse from the 52 Pick-me-up links, sometimes early on, sometimes at the last minute. Whenever I decide, I still don't sketch, digitize, and paint until Tuesday mornings, BEFORE I get ready for work.
I instagram the sketch with a playing card from a deck made by Vanity Fair magazine before I scan, as a bit of a teaser.

I was very excited about this week, week 26 -- halfway through!
I drew the first gent to join my linky party, a milestone.
Here's Terry, of Terry's Two Cents, with the King of Clubs, Cary Grant.

The Vanity Fair card deck has photos of celebrities that originally were published in the magazine.
I try to match a card to the sketch. Mostly for my own amusement.

But then this happened:

I was distracted, to say the least! My artist side said "Wait. You have to watch this."
I obeyed, but then didn't have time to get Terry's drawing done. Oh well. Thursday maybe. Stay tuned!
